Jason Barringer is a Research Scientist I at the CQGRD in the College of Architecture , Georgia Tech. He received his Masters in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech in Spring 2005. His specializations were Environmental Planning and GIS and his interests include storm water management and sustainable development. Jason was the recipient of the 2004 Frederick K. Bell Memorial Scholarship awarded to the most outstanding first year planning student.
During his masters program, Jason worked as a graduate research assistant for the Center for Geographic Information Systems, Georgia Tech. While there he worked on rectification of aerial imagery, land cover classification, and data creation. He interned with the Atlanta Regional Commission during the summer of 2004 where he worked on the TMDL program for the Chattahoochee River Basin.
Prior to pursuing his masters degree in City and Regional Planning at Georgia Tech, Jason worked for several years in the outdoor industry managing departments and stores for REI, Inc. and Patagonia. He received his B.S. in Business from the University of Alabama's Culverhouse School of Commerce.
